Brittany Broussard

Brittany Broussard is originally from Houston, Texas and performed with Alberta Ballet for six seasons before retiring in 2023. During her time with Alberta Ballet, Brittany performed numerous classical and contemporary works including works by Cathy Martston, Jean Grand Maître, Helen Pickett, Bruce Wells, Wen Wei Wang, Christopher Anderson, Septime Webre and Ben Stevenson.

Brittany grew up in Houston before moving to Tampa, Florida to train at Next Generation Ballet under the direction of Peter Stark and Ivvone Lemus before she continued her training at Vitacca Vocational School for Dance under Kelly Ann Vitacca and Phillip Broomhead. In 2015, Brittany received a scholarship to Alberta Ballet School where she completed her training with Murray Kilgour and had the opportunity to perform several works with the company before accepting a position with Alberta Ballet in 2016.

While working full-time with Alberta Ballet, Brittany completed her bachelor’s degree through University of Alabama’s online program and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her degree in Commerce and Business Administration in 2022. Brittany is passionate about career planning for young students and artists and served on the board for the Dancer Development Fund representing the dancers of Alberta Ballet which promotes dancer training and education for future careers upon retirement. She has also volunteered to assist nonprofit organizations such as Calgary Folk Festival, Global Festival and the Sunalta Community Association and continues to volunteer in Houston with Child Advocates.

Since retiring from performing in 2023, she accepted a position working for Houston Ballet and is currently Houston Ballet's Artistic Planning Manager.
